Brilliant victory in Ghamal! Terrorist stronghold in Capital of Edalla province smashed by armed forces! At 0500 hrs this morning, elements of the 27th Naval Scout Regiment, 345th tactical surveillance squadron and the 9th Orion Army’s famous 32nd Mechanized Brigade began the first stage of an operation to attack a terrorist stronghold. The Naval Scouts infiltrated the old town in central Ghamal just before dawn. Their mission was to contact local informants to find the exact location of the stronghold. After conducting a low altitude pass to confirm the intel, an aircraft from the 345th was shot down but conducted an emergency landing in the vicinity of the terrorist hideout, a highwalled compound in the heart of Ghamal’s old town.  Despite the original plan calling for the 32nd mechanized to prepare an attack at dawn the next day, the decision was made to commit an all out assault at 0945hrs, mere minutes after aircraft was downed.
